About: Her Voice, His WOrds

Host: Vanessa hughey

her voice, his words

Hello Everyone! My Name is Vanessa Hughey. I am the host of Her Voice, His Words. I am currently a Childrens Ministry teacher here at LOJ. I am the youngest of course, which would make me 24! I have been a part of this particular ministry since middle school. I have grown to love this ministry whole heartedly. I love seeing children grow, become confident, become bold in who God is calling them to be. The most important thing is that I get to see it with my own eyes. When a teacher witnesses growth from their student, it brings joy to their heart. Imagine how God feels when He sees us growing and evolving into who He is calling us to be. PURE JOY. I am also a preschool teacher. One will say working with children is my PASSION! The radio segment Her Voice, His Words is something that is actually close to my heart. When the idea of a children’s segment was presented to me, I instantly became excited. First of all when one takes the time to sit and actually have a conversation with a child, YOU can learn a whole lot. You may learn about their passions, interests, and dislikes. If you never take the time to listen, their voices will never be heard. A child may have a lot that they would like to share but may feel insecure about using their voices, or afraid of the responses that may come.
Her Voice, His Words is a segment about children using their voices. Alongside me is Caylee, and Gabi. We take the time to talk about different topics, and ask God for daily wisdom on the topic. Yes, we can share from our experiences, but God’s word knowledge tops it off. We are able to share and learn because of our voices that God has given us. We want God to continue to help us grow, learn and not be afraid to use our voices. My prayer is that each child will listen in and learn that there are children that feel the same way as them, that it is okay to speak up and share, and that they are never alone. I pray that you all enjoy this segment, and stay with us on this journey of growth. James 4:8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Sincerely,
Vanessa
